Connect Webflow to Relato with the Webflow MCP

Connect Webflow to Relato so your AI Content Agents can publish approved projects straight into a Webflow CMS collection.

Written by David Baum

Connect Webflow to Relato and your AI Content Agents can move an approved project into your Webflow site without a manual copy step.

What you can do

Once Webflow is connected, an agent can publish an approved project into a Webflow CMS collection when the project reaches a publish stage. The agent maps your project fields onto the collection fields and creates or updates the item for you.

Connect Webflow

In Relato open Settings, then Integrations, then MCP, then Add account. Paste the Webflow MCP URL, approve the OAuth prompt, and give the account a display name. That name prefixes Webflow's tools in the agent tool picker. See Connect any MCP to Relato for the full walkthrough.

Then attach Webflow's create and update tools to an agent, along with the Relato query and project tools, and set a trigger. A trigger can be a project stage change, a schedule, or a manual run.

A good first agent

Try an agent with instructions like these:

  1. When a project reaches the publish stage, read the project title, body, and any SEO fields with the Relato query tools.

  2. Map those fields onto the target Webflow CMS collection.

  3. Use Webflow's create tool to add the item, or its update tool if an item for that project already exists.

  4. Post the published item link back to the project as a comment.

A note on OAuth

Relato's MCP integration is OAuth based. You can connect Webflow if it runs an OAuth capable MCP server that Relato can reach. If a public OAuth MCP for Webflow does not exist yet, tell us at [email protected] so we can prioritize a connector.

FAQ

Does the agent create new CMS items or update existing ones? Both. Give it the create tool for new items and the update tool for items it has published before, and let your instructions decide which to use.

Can I gate publishing on a specific stage? Yes. Set the trigger to a project stage change and name the publish stage in the agent instructions.
