The Relato Google Search Console integration brings search performance data directly into your content projects, allowing you to measure the impact of your published content in one unified workspace.

This feature closes the loop on your content operations โ€” once content is published, you can track how it performs in search directly within the project where it was created. No more switching between tools or manually compiling reports.

Setting Up the Integration

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Admin access to your Relato organization

  • Access to Google Search Console for the websites you want to track

  • Your website(s) verified in Google Search Console

Step 1: Access the Integrations Page

  1. Click on your organization name in the top-left corner of Relato

  2. Select Integrations from the dropdown menu

Step 2: Connect Google Search Console

  1. On the Integrations page, find the Google Search Console card

  2. Click on the card to open the connection dialog

  3. Enter an Account display name (e.g., "My Google Search Console Account" or "Relato Google Search Performance")

  4. Click Continue

Step 3: Authenticate with Google

  1. A Google sign-in window will appear

  2. Select the Google account that has access to your Search Console properties

  3. Review the permissions and click Allow

Step 4: Select Your Sites

  1. After authentication, you'll see a list of sites from your Google Search Console

  2. Check the boxes next to the sites you want to connect

  3. Click Save

Step 5: Run Your First Sync

  1. After configuration, your connection will appear in the Google Search Console integration panel

  2. Click the three-dot menu (โ‹ฎ) next to your connection

  3. Select Run to trigger the first data sync

Viewing Performance Data

Once the integration is set up and synced, you can view search performance data within your content projects and in the Reports tab of any workspace:

  1. Open a content project that has been published

  2. Click on the Performance tab in the left sidebar

  3. View the GSC Metrics Summary showing total clicks and impressions

  4. Review the GSC Clicks & Impressions trend chart for daily performance

  5. Use the Filter by dropdown to change the date range

In the Performance tab of any workspace:

  1. Open the Reports tab

  2. Click Add widget to choose the performance graph to show.

Q: Why don't I see data for a specific project? Make sure the project has a published URL that matches one of your connected Google Search Console properties. The URL field in the project Overview must be set.

Q: Can I connect multiple Google accounts? Yes, you can add multiple connections by clicking "+ Connect account" in the Google Search Console integration panel. This is useful if you have different domains verified under different Google accounts.

Q: What permissions does Relato need? Relato only requests read access to your Google Search Console data. It cannot modify your Search Console settings or verify new properties.
