Connect Reddit to Relato with the Reddit MCP

Give your AI Content Agents Reddit tools so they can research subreddits for angles and post where it fits the rules.

Connect Reddit to Relato so your AI Content Agents can research subreddits for angles and post where the topic fits the community, from inside Relato.

What you can do

Once Reddit is connected, an agent can:

  • Research subreddits to find angles that match your project.

  • Read what a community talks about before you write anything.

  • Post to a subreddit where the topic fits its rules.

Connect Reddit

In Relato open Settings > Integrations > MCP > Add account, paste the Reddit MCP URL, approve the OAuth prompt, and name the account. The name you give it prefixes that service's tools in the agent tool picker. Then attach the Reddit tools plus the Relato query and project tools to an agent, and set a trigger: a project stage change, a schedule, or manual. For the full walkthrough see Connect any MCP to Relato.

A good first agent

Create an agent called Reddit angle finder. Attach the Reddit tools plus the Relato query and project tools. Set its instructions to: read the project, search two or three subreddits where the topic is on point, summarize what those communities ask about, and suggest one angle per subreddit that reads as a member sharing something useful. Set the trigger to manual so you review the angles and pick where to post yourself.

A note on OAuth

Relato's MCP integration is OAuth based. You can connect Reddit if it runs an OAuth capable MCP server that Relato can reach. If a public OAuth MCP for Reddit does not exist yet, tell us at [email protected] and we will help you find a path.

FAQ

How do I keep posts within subreddit rules? Each subreddit sets its own rules on self promotion and links. Have the agent read the rules first, and keep a manual trigger so you approve each post. Respect the community and do not spam. A post that reads as an advertisement will get removed and can cost you the account.

Can the agent post on a schedule? You can schedule research, but posting to Reddit is better left manual so you can match each community and follow its rules.
