Connect WordPress to Relato with the WordPress MCP

Connect WordPress to Relato so your AI Content Agents can publish a finished project to WordPress from inside an agent flow.

Connect WordPress to Relato and your AI Content Agents can publish a finished project to your WordPress site as part of their own flow.

What you can do

Once WordPress is connected, an agent can publish a finished project to WordPress from inside an agent flow. This is the MCP counterpart to Relato's existing WordPress integration, which you can still use as an alternative if you prefer a direct connection.

Connect WordPress

In Relato open Settings, then Integrations, then MCP, then Add account. Paste the WordPress MCP URL, approve the OAuth prompt, and give the account a display name. That name prefixes WordPress's tools in the agent tool picker. See Connect any MCP to Relato for the full walkthrough.

Then attach WordPress's create and update tools to an agent, along with the Relato query and project tools, and set a trigger. A trigger can be a project stage change, a schedule, or a manual run.

A good first agent

Try an agent with instructions like these:

  1. When a project is finished, read its title, body, and any tags or categories with the Relato query tools.

  2. Format the body for WordPress and set the post status you want, such as draft or published.

  3. Use WordPress's create tool to add the post, or its update tool to revise a post the agent published earlier.

  4. Write the post link back to the project as a comment.

A note on OAuth

Relato's MCP integration is OAuth based. You can connect WordPress if it runs an OAuth capable MCP server that Relato can reach. If a public OAuth MCP for WordPress does not exist yet, tell us at [email protected] so we can prioritize a connector.

FAQ

How is this different from Relato for WordPress? The MCP route lets an agent publish as one step inside a larger flow. The Relato for WordPress integration is a direct connection you can use on its own. Pick whichever fits your setup.

Can the agent publish drafts instead of live posts? Yes. Set the post status in your agent instructions so the agent creates drafts for review.
